Sri's Story Time At Iktena's Bardic Collegium

By: Gunndish

A grand evening was had by several members of the Family at the Bardic Collegium on Wednesday night. Local bard, Iktena, provided a series of lively story songs while Sri made sure that everyone had plenty to eat and drink. A lovely warrioress, Xyanthra joined in while sampling the Tovin Stout for the first time.

They were joined by Meridian City Guard, Zahared accompanied by wife Shayala and their child Hannah.

While dinner orders were taken care of, the evening's selection consisted of Choice Roast or Pondleaper in Gravy. The roast was the popular choice that night. The topic of the night, pre-performance was the recent assault on Meridian. It was unclear who was responsible for the attack per the City Guard, but the discussion centered around wondering why the Guardians and Defiants haven't learned to get along when such a larger enemy threatens us all.

Iktena came on stage and asked the audience which they would prefer, the choices being a tragedy or some lively tunes. Having already had somber events earlier in the evening, lively songs was the unanimous choice was for something more upbeat.

The first selection was a tune about a town who made a deal with a dragon and how they came to outsmart the dangerous beast. Next was a jumpy tune about a woman and a moose. Lastly, several small songs involving a local wise man and the clever advice he gave to various people who sought his wisdom.

Little Hannah only made it thru half the event before falling asleep in her Faher's embrace. Her parents enjoyed a sampling of the deserts prepared by Sri, delicious pumpkin pie and savory angelfood cake.

The Bardic Collegium will be hosting another event in two weeks time, Wed the 6th of March at 830 PM Server. Join us for another set of good stories with a fine meal and drink.
