Commander Jessica's Musings

By: Jessica

Entered the battlefield a little early today. Wanted to get an idea of what we were facing before I lead my family to the fields of war. Looking out over the fields, I saw no allies, no one to back us up if we got into a pinch. I weighed the options. I could go claim another field and run with the allies there, or I could pave a new path. I rallied my fellow Gaiscioch out of their other adventures, and proceeded to make some provisions for our battle today. While I was cooking, I started thinking about the things I had learned from other commanders that had paved those paths before too. Each person I have followed I have learned a great deal from. I have tried to figure out my style of commanding.
Family start to flood in and I tell everyone to grab a bite and gather up, pick the people they want to fight next to this day. We go to the nearest camp, which we quickly turn to our side. We proceed down the path to the tower and find it unguarded. We beat down the door with our rams, and proceed to the top of the tower to kill the lord. He quickly agrees to surrender his life. I have my team run to get more supply from the south camp and a scout stay in the tower to warn us if there are enemies spotted.
We capture the south camp and run back to the tower we had taken. I sat there for a second to survey the land and look for any signs of movement or anything that could give me an idea of what the enemy had been up to before we came onto the field. No movement. So I rally the troops and we head up the mountain to the keep, throw down a couple rams and proceed to knock on the doors. It has the result I want, they come flanking from behind and while we put up a valiant fight, we end up pulverized and back at camp. The armor guy feels bad for us though and doesn't charge for repairs this time. He knows we face bad odds, and gives me a look like I am crazy.
Knowing one enemies numbers now and the fact they had double the guard we could handle, it would be pretty pointless for another attack. So I decide to scout out the other side of the map and see how strong that enemy was at this time of day. We headed towards south camp to resupply and build a golem. Walking the golem towards briar, one of my team notices some enemies off in the distance. The person in the golem rushes towards the door and starts ripping it to shreds with the golem. Everyone starts hacking away at the enemy, trying to get to the tower. I end up getting knocked out and wake up back at base camp. Still shouting orders I head out again and tell people to fall back to our tower. We fall back and the other enemy starts using a trebuchet on our tower from their keep. They get two of our walls down while I am having people build siege. I leave a skeleton crew in the tower and rush to take the other tower with the remainder of the team. We go back to the original tower and escort supplies back in forth to try to build the walls up in time before the enemy overwhelms us. Things go silent so I take a moment to run to base for some additional help from the local siege-raiser. Running back to the tower, I see the enemy rushing up to our lord to kill him. I focus my energy and push the first wave off the tower. The second wave hits us and three of me step forward to take my place granting me protection enough to meditate a mantra to heal my allies and myself. I yell for people to aim arrow carts at the lord's room and it helps cull the numbers a bit. I get hit in the head very hard with a hammer, someone had guessed the real clone. I can't move, everything starts to go black.
I wake up, what I guess to be five minutes later at base. I look around and my troops look mad. I know it's at the enemy, they dealt us a hard blow. I start thinking, I can use that and do something they won't expect and draw their attention off this side of the field. Just about then one of my team starts running around in nothing but a leaf (why I love this family). I have everyone follow me and we head north. I tell them not to attack anything on the way. We pass by two camps, all enemy territory. We proceed to sneak past the outside guards in their home camp. and swiftly take it. We then proceed west. I now have my eyes set on a bigger target since the camp didn't attract much attention. We get to their tower, and I have everyone build flame rams to take the door down. I tell my team, 'if a lot of them start showing up, just run and take a portal to base.' We get overwhelmed but I make sure everyone portals out before I hit mine and go to base.
I quickly rally everyone up and have them talk to the siege raiser to send him out. We go capture the nearest camp to base and proceed to the tower. Siege raiser is there and ready to help us with what needs to be done. We start catapulting the wall and knocking the gates down. Jade quarry shows up with their allies and start trying to kill us. They messed with the wrong group. We remember our defeat earlier, and we learned from it as well. We knock the wall down and run up the stairs, killing the few that remain in opposition to us. We claim victory over our enemies and take our tower. I dismiss everyone for the day. I think the kind of leader I am can't be summed up in words, but in the actions I commit.
